Pantocrator, 2011 Day 1

St. Peter's newest iconographers have begun their Pantocrator icons, starting by painting in the basic color blocks that make up the "shadows" of the icon.

From August 8-12, new iconographers will be meeting at St. Peter's in Del Mar, California, to write this icon of the Christ Pantocrator.

Nativity Day 4: Faces and hands...

Today the icons became ever more themselves. as we worked with lighter and lighter paint, in thin coats, the faces emerged.


This rather odd image is the dry erase board used to show brush stroke directions and placement...
