The Visitation Day 5

What a remarkable week!

Thank you to my group of wonderful iconographers for your faithful engaging of this process. The pictures below were taken right after the icons were varnished, and so the reflection of the flash is rather bright and unfortunate. I hope that we'll have pictures from Sunday's blessing of the icons at St. Mary's.

Our icons of the Visitation were blessed by Fr. Rowe today, 2/8/09: "You, yourself, O Lord, are the fulfillment and completion of all good things. Fill our souls with joy and gladness, for you alone are the Lover of Humankind. Let your grace sanctify and dwell within these icons, that they may edify and inspire those who gaze upon them and venerate them, that in glorifying the one depicted, they may be repentant of their sins and strengthened against every attack of adversary. Through the prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the holy Apostle and Evangelist Luke, and all the Saints. O Savior save us! AMEN

These are beautiful, Paige! Your iconographers did an amazing job and looked like they were enjoying themselves as well.
